I have heard the results of the most recent Ash and Alain battle, and I have a message to give to my fellow Pokémon anime fans. GROW UP! Ash losing a battle doesn't mean the end of the world, and doesn't ruin the series, in fact if he won this one, it would be an example of horrible storytelling flow, as Alain is the second strongest member of Team Flare, and the Team Flare Arc is still going on. Ash usually uses just his newer Pokémon in a league in order to train them up, and get them to the point where they can keep up with the old guard.
Charizard, Sceptile, and Krokorok are stronger than most of Ash's Kalos team, with only Goodra and Greninja being able to be considered around equal footing to them among Ash's Kalos captured Pokémon. Since Ash is finished with the Kalos League, he is more likely to bring his older Pokémon Back. Now, you guys are upset that he didn't beat Team Flare's second strongest member with a weaker team, can you imagine how the Team Flare conflict would have gone by that point? Ash would curb-stomp all of them on the way to Lysander after bring along his most powerful Pokémon if his Kalos team were able to beat the second in command, thus making the story very boring.
Also, you know Ash still has to fight Alain again, after all, Alain's with Team Flare, so he still has to face him as a Team Flare member. Could there be any interest if Ash fought someone with his strongest Pokémon after defeating them with a weaker team? It would be boring if they were realistic with that. Ash's final battle with Alain in this arc should be a struggle to surpass his earlier performance and loss, similar to how he did against Paul in Sinnoh.
I myself may be a little upset, but that's only because they apparently brought back the hacks that wrote for the Unova episodes. I'm still ticked off because of the Hydreigon incident, since there is no way it should have listened to Cameron, but you don't see me raging about it and claiming how horrible the anime is because of it. I'd tell the people having temper tantrums and hissy fits about this to grow up and stop acting like two year olds, but even two year olds should be mature enough to be embarrassed by how you guys are acting.
